Dollywood Theme Park
The Dollywood theme park is 125 acres of family friendly fun, adventure, food and entertainment everyone will enjoy and is located less than 5 minutes from the parkway in Pigeon Forge Tennessee.
Dollywood is consistently voted as one of the top entertainment and amusement parks in the world and even if you don't want to ride on any of the attractions such as The Thunderhead™ which is award-winning wooden roller coaster, or any of the other exciting or kiddie rides in Dollywood, the whole family will have fun just seeing the sights, listening to top notch musicians, seeing award winning shows running day and night, watching master Smoky Mountains craftsman at work or shopping in the villages inside Dollywood.
Did we mention all the great the food in Dollywood? Start with a breakfast at Aunt Granny's All-You-Care-To-Eat Buffet then have a fabulous country style barbecue lunch at the Hickory House BBQ, snacks at the Spotlight Bakery or the Sweet Shoppe and then a wholesome southern style dinner Miss Lillian's Chicken House. Dolly Parton is known for producing wonderful music and top hits for more than 40 years so there are more than a dozen stage shows in Dollywood featuring local and world renowned country, bluegrass and gospel musicians. Some of Dolly Parton's own family members perform here!
Step back in time to the old day in the Smoky Mountains where you can watch master craftsman at work such as a blacksmith, glass blowers, soap makers, candle makers, work on wagons in the Valley Carriage Works, paintings of Smoky Mountains scenery on local slate or even the leather smith offering fine handmade leather clothing, jackets and accessories. You can even see a working grist mil at work that is more than 100 years old!
If all this is still not enough for you, Dollywood also throws special festivals such as the Smoky Mountain Christmas Festival, Bluegrass and BBQ Festival, National Harvest and Music Celebration, KidsFest and the Festival of Nations.
